I soon realised I was among a very tight-knit group of cold water swimmers who were completely devoted to their sport and community. All the swimmers showed so much encouragement, motivation and respect towards each other regardless of ability, or outcome. Taking the plunge into a ice cold lido is certainly not my idea of entertainment, however whilst observing and documenting the swimmers, It reiterated the importance of diversity, encouragement and I returned to education six years ago to immerse myself in the photo community, and have never looked back since. During my ND (National Diploma) FND (Foundation Degree) BA (Bachelors degree) I explored many avenues of photography including photographing my near and dear which allowed me to produce work with a broader context and narrative. I now work commercially & on Fine art projects, my drive for image making has allowed me to pursue many personal projects as well as completing commissions for large brands and publications.
